Hey everyone ! I’m in the process of looking for a live-in farmhand for 2024 and possibly beyond. I’m in the process of restoring a 5.5 acre farm in La Plata area where I currently live at right now.

Experience working on a farm is preferred (please be able to show referrals or evidence). I would be present for most work as a working supervisor. Work may include and up to preparing, growing, maintaining .25 - .50 acre food garden (you can eat what you grow); maintain other landscaping on property; livestock husbandry for chickens, goats, pigs, and possibly horses or cow; installing or repairing fences, building/restoring outbuildings; making or preparing farm products to sell locally; etc.

This situation would be a work for room and board. And at present I’ve calculated it out to a commitment of 20 hours per week. They must be able to physically perform a number of tasks including being able to lift a minimum of 60lbs.

This position is for a single individual but open to dicussion of accommodating a couple to live on the farm.

I would require a background check as part of the approval process. The soonest I would have you move on the property would be February 1st.
