I need chimney repair work done

I received an estimate from a chimney sweep company for the following work, and I was hoping to see if I could find someone who can do the same job at a lower cost. Their estimate seemed really steep to me.  Here is a verbatim description of the job from the estimate that was sent to me. Point Chimney: Repointing is a process by which old deteriorated mortar is removed and replaced with new mortar while brick, stone, or block is left in place. Repointing can be a cost effective alternative to rebuild in order to prevent further water penetration and damage.  Rooftop does not spot point the exterior of chimneys. In order to get a better finished look as well as a better long term fix, Rooftop only points the entire roof line up or the entire chimney. Please be advised, though Rooftop uses custom dyes to make a best possible match, matching mortar is a complex process that is dependent on multiple factors including sand color, dyes, and amount of mortar. Understand that without sampling, premixing and testing (which add significant cost) perfect color matching is not possible and client should set expectations accordingly.  QUANTITY - 1 Recrown: New Masonry Crown - includes removal of old crown and replacement with wet laid Type 2 Portland Cement.  QUANTITY – 1 WP Small: Chimney Water Repellant is designed to protect masonry chimneys from harmful water penetration while allowing moisture to evaporate out of the brick. Uses environmentally friendly materials and carries 10 year product warranty. Annual Inspection and service is required to maintain warranty.  QUANTITY – 1 I am having a difficult time posting photos here but I can provide them upon request.
