Weatherstripping at base of door

remove existing weatherstripping which is getting frayed. Put in new weatherstripping at base of door. Door is front door, heavy, and I amnot sure it can be done without taking door off hinges. It is hard for me to see style of weatherstripping, to buy the replacement. I hesitate to pull the existing one out, do not think there is any glue involvef but I am unsure.
